Saturday, August 9th 2008:

Today is my big day! I am graduating from Florida State University! I have earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Information Technology. I am so glad that I am finished and that I will now be able to get a career started.

Monday, July 4th 2008:

Today I have uploaded a new section to this site. The section is called Project and it is basically a showcase for the work that I put into the IT Project capstone class while attending FSU. The project title is "Catholic Charities Summer 2008". During this project I setup an Active Directory server at the Tallahassee office of Catholic Charities. The project section includes all of the details of the project along with links to the project files and a link to my project blog.

Lately I have been testing Windows Server 2008 as a Windows Vista replacement for my desktop computer. I have found that it can be used as a desktop OS and that it takes up far less system resources than Vista. I have also considered using it on my personal web server. I have also finished an Active Directory install on the server at Catholic Charities in Tallahassee, Florida. This install is part of my Information Technology Project course. I will be adding a section about my IT Project to this site in the near future.

Saturday, May 31st 2008:

I planned to test-host my web site, afazio.com, from a virtual server instead of the eight-year-old box that has been hosting it for a little over five months now. It does work rather well but it is not worth slowing down my desktop computer to run the virtual machine instead of using the old machine. I think that a virtual server would be very useful if I had a server rack with the power needed to run multiple virtual machines at the same time.

Friday, May 30th 2008:

I have recently volunteered to work as the system administrator at Catholic Charities in Tallahassee, Florida. This is a project that I have taken up for my Information Technology Project class at FSU. I will be maintaining their network, setting up file sharing, and creating a disaster recovery plan that will include off-site backups for their data. I will post more about this project in my project section which is soon to be posted.
